RT STORIES
Here is our second RT Story posted Sept/Oct 2011.
We will feature a new Member's and/or Russian Toy owner's RT story every three months, or so. The first story has moved to Members Only page.

One day INKA did something very special. I brought her into the hospital one day to visit an old man,who can not get off the ventilator due to bad lungs. This man is a wonderful old man, who is loved by everyone there, because he has such love and appreciation in his heart for everyone, and is so marvelously kind. When we walked into his room, his eyes widened and his face brightened with the biggest smile I ever saw. I handed INKA to him, and he took her with his large hands, and brought her to his chest. INKA was instantaneously calm, though at first she was curious as to what the ventilator was. She quickly settled against his chest, and lay there calmly and still. Mr.Means rubbed his big hand down her back, while supporting her with his other hand. He can't talk because of the vent, and he is also deaf, so all communication occurs by wipe off boards, and him pointing to letters on a signing board. I wrote on the wipe off board a little about INKA. Once INKA was back in her papoose, he signed that one of his granddaughter's had a little dog named Inka, and they were killed by a car when they were walking down the street.
His wife was crying, and he had tears rolling down his face.
He kept thanking me for bringing in INKA, and his wife hugged me, when I came back in to see him as a patient.
David had come with me in a different car, so I could bring INKA. All of my other patients have bad infections that I don't want INKA near... so this was the only patient she could share her gift with.
